Privacy Policy

Operator

Sonir (the “App”) is developed and operated by nadai, an independent developer. For matters regarding this policy and the handling of data, the responsible contact is sonir@nadai.dev. More about the developer is at nadai.dev.

Our basic policy

The App requires no account registration. Recordings, measurement data, gear profiles, and calibration files are all stored only on your device. The App operates no server for recording or measurement.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not send or store recorded audio or measurement data on our servers.
  • We do not ask for account registration using your name, email address, or similar.
  • We do not collect location data.
  • We do not embed proprietary usage analytics or advertising mechanisms.

Information stored on your device

Recording files, measurement results, IRs, scores, gear profiles, room tags, and calibration files are all stored only on your device. You can manage and delete them yourself. Deleting the App also removes the associated data from your device.

Permissions

  • Microphone: used for recording and acoustic measurement. Captured audio is used only for on-device processing.
  • Camera: used only to scan QR codes that link a room you built in the web room simulator into the App. The camera image is processed on-device solely to decode the QR code; no photos or video are captured or stored.
  • USB / external audio devices: used for audio input/output when using an external mic.
  • Local network: used when you use the feature that sends a measurement signal to a compatible DLNA receiver (e.g., a network player). This stays within your local network and does not pass through our servers.

Sharing

Measurements, comparisons, and scores are generated as images and shared only to the destination you choose via the OS share sheet. Sharing does not go through our servers.

Billing and subscription management

Purchases and payments for paid features are processed through App Store / Google Play in-app purchases, and payment information is handled by Apple / Google under their respective policies. We run no payment or license server of our own.

To manage the active state of the subscription (Pro), we use the subscription-management service RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). RevenueCat receives only the information needed to verify subscription status, such as a randomly generated anonymous ID per device, the purchase receipt, the device and OS type, and the IP address at connection time. Your name, email address, recordings, and measurement data are never passed to RevenueCat. RevenueCat’s handling follows its own privacy policy (revenuecat.com/privacy).

Crash reports

The App does not embed third-party crash analytics. If you have enabled OS-level diagnostic data sharing on your device, diagnostic information such as crashes may be sent to Apple / Google under their respective policies.

Data retention

Data on your device is retained until you delete it or uninstall the App. Subscription-related records held by RevenueCat are retained for as long as needed for subscription management, in accordance with its policy.

Your rights by region

If you reside in the EU or the UK, you have the right under the GDPR / UK GDPR to access, rectify, erase, restrict the processing of, and object to the processing of information about you. Information on your device, such as recordings and measurement data, can be deleted by you at any time. For subscription information processed by RevenueCat, contact sonir@nadai.dev. The legal bases for processing via RevenueCat are performance of the purchase contract and our legitimate interest in preventing misuse. If you reside in Japan, rights under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information are respected in the same way.

Children’s privacy

The App is not a service directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Revisions

We may revise this policy for feature additions or legal compliance. For material changes, we will update the date on this page and, where possible, notify you in the App or on this site.
